Electric and gas utilities across the nation face challenges presented by aging infrastructure, demands for higher reliability and a climate which makes major upgrades difficult.  The answers to this dilemma are oftentimes more monitoring and control, and smaller distributed resources to bolster their networks.

Our Process

Utilizing new technologies such as 5G, utilities can now rapidly move large amounts of operating data in real-time.  Although this unquestionably will increase system performance it requires a distributed network with many data and control collection nodes.

EMI provides towers and platforms to facilitate the upgrades as described above.  EMI’s tilt-towers and helical foundations can allow rapid and cost-effective upgrades to network control systems. The tilt down function greatly reduces maintenance costs as one technician can maintain the antennas and other tower mounted equipment without a boom truck.  All tilt-towers are available to 80’ height and designed to TIA 222 wind speeds.

EMI’s equipment platforms are custom designed by our in-house engineers.  Each platform will be designed for specific elevations for flood protection.  Access to the platform and equipment doors will be unobstructed as we design specifically for the cabinets to be mounted.  All platforms are designed to OSHA standards.
