Railroad Industry
The North American rail industry, the lifeblood of American commerce, is a massive network of miles, jobs, and economic activity. The private companies that own all that track pump in $26 billion a year to repair infrastructure, upgrade equipment, and develop new technology to meet new challenges. When new towers or structures are needed, industry standards demand repairs or system upgrades, freight and passenger rail companies don’t have the luxury of time. Every minute your tracks are inoperable means a delay in passenger schedules or shipments of goods, a decrease in revenue and a potential loss of clients. EMI has been supporting railroad companies across North America for nearly a decade. Our rail solutions include towers, platforms, and a limitless array of custom-engineered structures. We provide everything from new equipment to turnkey solutions.
Our Process
Every rail client has different needs, and our top priority is being flexible to meet those needs. If the scope of your project requires a site visit in the field, we’ll have someone in a car or on a plane to meet you at your office or your job site. Every EMI project is a coordinated effort of our design and production teams to ensure that we are building with intelligence and real-world feasibility. Our design team is unique in the industry, in that it is comprised of individuals with almost 50 years of previous field experience who are cross trained in different manufacturing and fabricating disciplines and understand the real-world problems of applications, installation and maintenance. That knowledge doesn’t stop when we finish the build. Our team makes sure you understand every step of your solution’s design and implementation by providing support and instruction manuals for the field.
Our Experience
EMI has multiple employees serving on various American Railroad Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, “AREMA” Committees in an effort to volunteer and lend expertise to serve and improve railroad industry standards. These Committees are responsible for the development of railway-related technical material such as the Manual for Railway Engineering and the Communications and Signals Manual.
